Step 2: Add-ons
Add-ons let a guest attach optional extras — equipment, food packages, upgrades, and similar items — to their booking. This step is conditional: it only appears at all when the chosen booking type actually offers add-ons.
Quick start
- Browse the available add-ons for the selected booking type
- Click Add on anything the guest wants
- Use + / − to adjust the quantity
- Check the updated total in the Order Summary
- Click Continue — with or without add-ons selected
What you can do
- Personalize the booking — attach extras like food, equipment, or upgrades specific to the chosen booking type
- Control quantity — increase or decrease how many of each add-on are included
- Skip entirely — add-ons are always optional; Continue is never blocked by this step
How it works
Step visibility
The Add-ons tab only appears in the step header when the booking type chosen on Booking Details has at least one active add-on linked to it. If the booking type has no add-ons, the tab never appears, and Continue on Booking Details goes straight to Your Info.
The add-ons shown are specific to the chosen booking type — going back and picking a different booking type loads a different (or empty) set here. Only active add-ons linked to that specific booking type appear; inactive add-ons, or ones not linked to it, are never shown. Add-ons are listed alphabetically by name.
Changing the date or time slot on Booking Details (without changing the booking type) does not affect any add-ons already chosen — they carry over untouched.
Add-on card
Each card shows:
- a thumbnail image, or a placeholder icon when none is configured
- the add-on's name and a short summary (when configured)
- the unit price, shown in the location's currency as a per-item amount
- an Add button, or quantity controls once it's been added
A card with a chosen quantity is visually highlighted so it's easy to see what's already on the booking at a glance.
Choosing a quantity
Clicking Add puts the add-on on the booking at its minimum sellable quantity — normally 1, or a higher configured batch minimum for add-ons sold in bulk (for example, an add-on with a minimum of 3 is added at quantity 3, not 1). Once added, Add is replaced by minus / count / plus controls:
- + increases the quantity by one, up to the add-on's configured maximum (or a large/unlimited amount if no maximum is set), then disables
- − decreases the quantity by one; stepping below the configured minimum removes the add-on entirely and reverts back to the Add button, rather than leaving a partial quantity under the minimum
Adjusting one add-on's quantity never affects any other add-on.
Add-ons tied to guest count
Some add-ons have a minimum and/or maximum that's set "per person." For these, the allowed range is bound to the Number of Adults + Number of Children entered on Booking Details. Raising the guest count on Booking Details and returning here widens the allowed range; lowering it narrows the range. If the party size is reduced below an already-chosen quantity for one of these add-ons, the quantity is adjusted automatically so the guest is never left in an inconsistent state.
For Party and Rental booking types, guest-count fields don't exist on Booking Details at all — per-person-bound add-ons still work normally in this case and don't block the flow.
No add-ons available
If a booking type qualifies for this step but has no add-ons currently available, the card simply reads: "No add-ons are available for this booking type." — no list or quantity controls are shown.
Pricing impact
Selecting, increasing, or decreasing any add-on's quantity recalculates Total Bill and Amount Due Now in the Order Summary, after the same brief pause as on Booking Details. There's no separate add-on subtotal shown on this step — only the running totals reflect the change. Removing every chosen add-on returns the totals to what they were before any were selected.
Continuing to the next step
Continue is never disabled by add-on selection, since add-ons are optional. Clicking it does not re-check slot availability — that only happens when leaving Booking Details — it proceeds straight to Your Info.
Clicking Back returns to Booking Details with all its answers intact. Returning to this step later, whether via Back or by clicking the Add-ons tab directly, preserves every add-on quantity previously chosen — unless the booking type itself was changed on Booking Details, in which case every add-on selection here is cleared and the new type's add-ons (if any) start unselected.
Common scenarios
Adding several different extras
Select each add-on and set its quantity one at a time — the Order Summary updates after every change so the running total stays visible throughout.
Changing the group size after choosing add-ons
If an add-on's quantity is tied to guest count and the party size shrinks on Booking Details, the add-on quantity here adjusts automatically to fit — no manual correction is needed.
Switching booking types after selecting add-ons
Going back to Booking Details and picking a different booking type clears every add-on chosen here. This is expected, since add-ons are always specific to the booking type they're linked to.
Troubleshooting
Issue: No add-ons are listed at all
Why this happens: The chosen booking type has no active add-ons configured, or the ones that are configured belong to a different booking type or location.
How to fix it: This isn't an error — simply click Continue to proceed without any.
Issue: A previously chosen add-on disappeared
Why this happens: The booking type was changed on Booking Details, which clears all add-on selections since they're type-specific.
How to fix it: Re-add the desired items from the new booking type's add-on list, if available.
Frequently asked questions
Are add-ons required?
No. They're entirely optional, and the guest can proceed to Your Info without choosing any.
Can I remove an add-on after adding it?
Yes. Reduce its quantity below the configured minimum (usually to 0) using −, and it's removed automatically, reverting the card back to the Add button.
Does changing the date or time slot affect my add-ons?
No. Only changing the booking type clears add-on selections. Date and time slot changes leave them untouched.
Is there a limit to how many of one add-on I can add?
Only if the add-on has a configured maximum. Add-ons explicitly marked unlimited, or with no maximum set, allow a large quantity to be chosen.
